Welcome to my new venture! I'm glad that you're here and I hope we can find something cool to work on together.

What is it?

It is what I've always done. Putting evidence to use to solve problems. Showing up for you and with you to increase impact and scale. Figuring out what isn't working and finding solutions that work for staff and participants.

It is also a chance for me to work the ways that I think work should be done. If a challenge is important enough to work on, it is important enough to work intensively and make fast progress. I am excited to right-size the data for each use-case and to learn through building and testing. I hope this will be a way to continue old relationships and build new ones. Most of all, I care about impact and think my best path to impact is by increasing the impact of others.

Why now?

When I was a kid, I loved the old Warren Miller ski movies. He has a line that shows up in most of them--"“If you don't do it this year, you'll be one year older when you do.” I'm 20 years older than the last time I skied, so I feel that. There is never a time when everything aligns just right. So today is as good as any time, even though there are plenty of things right now that are objectively bad.

There are plenty of clouds, but also some silver linings. The pervasive uncertainty makes it a really rough time to commit to new FTEs. Organizations that help people don't have the luxury of sitting it out. Products need producing, processes need executing, people need serving. People really need serving in times like these. Key Evidence & Insights can help you keep things working and improving and can help you adapt to [waves hands wildly] all of this.

Finally, I'm doing this now because I'm anxious to get my hands dirty again. I miss the work and I want to get back to it.

What is the five year plan?

I don't have one! Every time I've made one, circumstance and fate immediately disrupted it. I have some estimates and some if-thens...I'm not flying blind. But I am taking it day-by-day and project-by-project. I am a learner by disposition and training. I suspect as I do this for a while, I'll find ways to do it faster and better. Watch this space. I'll post the wins and the losses as they come.
